Ronaldo and Iceland contribute to Euro 2016 Record Audience


The fairytale story of Iceland appears to have heavily boosted the Euro 2016 viewership according to the figures released by UEFA. Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo also winning his first major international title may have also played its part. The Euro 2016 concluded in the summer with Portugal lifting the title.

It was one of the several unexpected events that unfolded in France. Wales were able to reach the semifinals of the tournament in incredible circumstances, but an even bigger surprise was Iceland reaching the quarter-finals of the competition.

The Republic of Ireland have risen in the new FIFA World rankings to a new height since 2011.

Moldova preparing their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign


Moldova will kick-off their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign against Wales on the 5th of September with a match against Wales.

They will be playing their first game away in the Welsh capital. Moldova has been placed in the Group D. Other teams in the group consist of Austria, Serbia, Ireland and Georgia. This is by far one of the toughest groups and Moldova will have to produce their best football if they want to have a chance in the qualifying campaigns. 3 of the teams in the group are participating in the Euros 2016, and this shows the quality of the group.

Croatia to face Moldova as they step up their preparation for the Euros


Moldova will be playing Croatia in a friendly match on May 27 as the Croatia team look to intensify their preparation for the Euros. Moldova, who is not qualified for the Euros, will want to use this opportunity to assess themselves against one of the better teams on the continent.
