BANGOR HEAD TO MOLDOVA

The Welsh club Bangor city has said that they are very much looking forward to playing in Moldova. The Welsh club will be playing against FC Zimbru Chisinau, who are currently part of the Moldovan league, in the Europa league qualification round.

It is the first qualification round and FC Zimbru Chisinau will be hoping to cause an upset by defeating the favourites Bangor city. It has been quite awhile since the clubs from Moldova challenged in the latter stages of the Europa league. However, this could finally be the season of emergence from the Moldovan country after Bangor city come into the match not as the clear favourites.

FC Zimbru Chisinau have a 10,000 seater capacity stadium. This will be playing host to the second leg encounter between the two clubs after the first leg will be played at the home of Bangor city. The secretary of the Welsh club Bangor city has said that he is extremely delighted that the club are playing against a team from Moldova, although he admitted that he does not know a lot about the team nor the players playing for the club. He, however, has said that it will be a different experience for the players, who will be taking part in their first ever European competition.

“We don’t really know much about them, but the players will be prepared just the same. At the end of the day, we’re seeded in Europe and they’re not, because of our countries’ European rankings. They have 12 or 13 professionals playing for them and they play in the national stadium, so we know they’re quite a big club and they’re going to be a challenge,” said the secretary of the Welsh club Gwynfor Jones after the draw was made in the UEFA headquarters in Geneva.
