Finishing in 2nd place is not enough for Manchester City

This recently concluded season of the Premier League concluded with Chelsea taking the title as they became the champions of England in a very impressive fashion with the team of Jose Mourinho only losing 3 matches.

Manchester City came in 2nd place and Arsenal snatched the 3rd spot.

Even though Manuel Pellegrini pushed his team to the 2nd spot of the Premier League and were the main rivals of Chelsea in this past season, it still isn’t enough for the executives of Manchester City as the chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak has spoken up and said that top players will be signed during the summer in order to become the champions and take the title away not only from Chelsea but from anyone that might stand in their way.

Manchester City’s chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak told the media: "We want a squad that is able and has the capability and quality to win the Premier League, compete and win the Champions League, compete and be able to go all the way in two cup competitions in England.’’

"I can assure you the squad will be stronger, the team will be more competitive. I am both confident and excited about what is coming next year.’’

Kevin de Bruyne, Paul Pogba and Raheem Sterling are some of the more popular stars that are in the watch-list of Manchester City and might be signed by the Premier League club if they act fast and offer more money than their competitors.

Besides Real Madrid, Manchester City is one of the clubs that are known for their cash spending as the club is not afraid to splash out huge sums of cash in order to sign their desired targets and Manchester City suffered a fairly disappointing season as they were knocked out of the FA Cup, Champions League and did not win the Premier League either.

After failing to lift any major piece of silverware, Manchester City is expected to spend big and try to be at the same or a higher level as Europe’s elite.
